Delete your summit account
Huck's maps need no account. Its one account is for the Huck+ summit board, from version 1.5.6, and you have one only if you signed in to the board: with Apple on iPhone, or with Google on Android. You can delete it in Huck, or by email without the app.
This page is for Huck: Idaho Trail Maps, by Farpine LLC, on the App Store and Google Play.
In Huck
- Tap More tools, the button with four squares.
- Tap Summits, then Account. If your Huck+ has lapsed, Summits shows your account right away.
- Tap Delete account, then Delete.
- On iPhone, Apple asks you to confirm it is you. Then Huck says Account deleted.
Huck needs service for this. If you signed out, sign in again on the same tab, with the same Apple ID or Google account, and delete it from there. If Huck can't sign you in, email instead. That happens when:
- your Huck+ has lapsed, since signing in needs it
- Huck says This account can't sign in to the summit board
- you made the account on an iPhone and now use Android, or the other way around: iPhone signs in only with Apple, and Android only with Google
Without Huck
Email support@gohuck.app from any address. Tell us the name you use on the board, and whether you signed in with Apple or with Google. We will delete the account and write back to say it is done. Our server keeps no email address, so your name on the board is how we find the account.
What deleting removes
All of this goes from our server at once:
- your account: its number, and the identifier Apple or Google gives Huck for you
- your name on the board
- your claims: every summit Huck sent to the board, including any whose climb did not check out
- your sessions, so every phone signed in to the account is signed out
- every report you made about a name, and every report about yours
Our server overwrites what it deletes, rather than only marking it gone. The peaks you held go back to the climber before you. The board stops showing your name within a minute, though a phone that loaded the board earlier shows it until it loads the board again. If you sign in again later, you start a new account, with no name and no peaks.
What it keeps
- Your summit log, on your phone. It was always on your phone, and it stays there, with your maps, tracks and waypoints, which were never part of the account. With Huck+, remove summits in Your summits; or delete Huck to remove it all.
- Our last 14 nightly backups. Our server's records are backed up every night, and we keep the last 14 backups. One made before you deleted your account still holds it until 14 newer ones have replaced it, which is usually two weeks.
- Our server's request log, for about 30 days. Every request to our server is logged with the time, what was asked for, a shortened network address and the app that asked. The log never holds your account, your name or anything you sent.
Deleting your summit account does not cancel Huck+, which Apple or Google bills. To cancel it, see Managing or canceling on the support page.
Your Apple ID or Google Account
On iPhone, deleting in Huck also takes Huck off your Apple ID. If Apple cannot be reached, Huck tells you, and you can do it yourself: open Settings, tap your name, then Sign-In & Security, then Sign in with Apple. Do the same after we delete an account by email, which cannot reach your Apple ID.
On Android there is nothing to take back: our server never held a Google token. To take Huck off your Google Account, open its Security settings, then your connections to third-party apps.
Neither of these deletes your summit account, because our server is not told. Delete it in Huck or by email.
